In Bostock v. Clayton County (2020), the Supreme Court ruled that discrimination against an employee for being transgender or not conforming to traditional gender norms is considered sex discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
As a result, LGBTQ employees are protected from discrimination based on sexual orientation, transgender status, or gender identity in all aspects of employment, including hiring, firing, promotions, job assignments, and other terms or conditions of employment.
