Sexual Harassment in the workplace is illegal and causes a myriad of morale and productivity issues for an organization. As a result, sexual harassment has disciplinary consequences for employees. These consequences are an important part of sexual harassment training. Make sure that every employee knows exactly what the result of non-compliance with your organization’s sexual harassment policy is and what steps the company will take when the policy is broken.

Retaliation for a Complaint
It’s also illegal to retaliate for a Sexual Harassment complaint.  This can also lead to disciplinary actions up to and including termination.  Retaliation is an extremely important part of a Sexual Harassment policy.  Make sure that you stress that retaliation for a complaint is illegal and unacceptable.  Retaliation for filing a discrimination charge, testifying, or participating in any way in an investigation, proceeding, or litigation under Title VII is strictly prohibited by law.
